Lifestealer Counter?
We just played a game against a lifestealer, in laning phase we were owning him an his partner, we got up 4 kills over them and it all seemed to be going well. I'm new to the game so I don't know the abilities of a lot of the heroes and he used Infest which I wasn't aware of thinking it was just a normal mob, and he killed us. From that point on he always came to a team fight as a mob from the jungle, and the mobs being immune to spells were really hard to kill for me (Shadow shaman)

When we managed to kill the mob he was in he came out with full hp and spell immunity and an explosion that took down anyone near to half hp, and since he was now immune to spells as well there was nothing anyone could do to stun or silence this. By the end of the game he was able to pretty much kill our entire team alone, and I only managed to kill him a few times when the whole team died to his spell immunity and once it was gone I used ult and channeling skill to freeze and kill him, but that came at the cost of 4 other people....

Is there some way to counter this, we literally ended the game with him on 30+ kills, I had like 11 and everyone else on both teams 1-3... It seemed like there was nothing we could do, but there must be some counter to it right? One that doesn't involve half team dying in the process of baiting out his spell immunity.

Lifestealer has basically no armor early on. His agility gain is also not very good. If he doesn't get armor items, that's how you should counter him. Avoid using to many magical nukers against him or any hero that can't deal with magic immunity very well because that's where he shines.

You can go Ursa, that can man-fight him, LC is also pretty good, WR, Troll... even PA that isn't very good in this patch is a pretty good pick against him. Heroes that reduce his armor even further are also nice like Dazzle, TA, Slardar, Weaver...

Lifestealer also can't deal with too many things at once, so heroes with a lot of summons or illusions might be nice too. Naga can trap him even when he uses rage and has her illusions, AM usually buys manta and bash, that are pretty good against him, Brood, if you don't see any counters, is very nice too.

Most of the heroes that I mentioned are usually carries. Dazzle isn't, of course, and you can play Naga as a support too. For some supports you can go Omni, that can repel someone that he uses "Open Wounds", I think Abbadon can dispel this with his Shield as well, Shadow Shaman and Lion can disable him for a long time, giving your team space to fight back...

If you are having trouble with him infesting ancients, any hero that kill ancients easily are nice. TA, AM... Slardar can also cast his ult on ancient units too, I guess.

For the last one that I can think here is Tide. Tide can deal with the ancient units without any trouble because of his Anchor Smash (reduces the damage of the creep) and can dispel Open Wounds with his passive if attacked.

That's all I can think of from the top of head. Quite easy hero to counter if you ask me.
you have to kite ls, when he uses rage just run around him. Force staff is good to get away if he uses open wounds on you or a teamate. He's not good against burst damage, so if you have lion or lina you can ult. He does pretty good against tanky and melee heroes. you can stun him while rage is on cd, and finish him off.

Any hard agility carry.

The problem was he was allowed to jungle unchecked to get him back in the game.

I mean, it doesn't even have to be a hard carry. Even a Viper ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Lifestealer.

First reply.
Or, kite his ass, like you would during a normal BKB as a caster-- run away, use your glimmer cape, force staff, euls yourself, ghost scepter, in the words of BigDaddy, "Anything can work"
Bane is the solution.

With Agh and Aether Lens (gives you enough range to stay out of trouble) his ult lasts longer than LS's Rage so when he use it just ult on him. Once you're done, your teammates can use their spells on him while his ability is on cooldown.

It's the same trick you do vs Ursa. Once he ults and sometimes use BKB at the same time to jump in, just ult and you'll make him waste both.

In both case you won't do any damages if they're immune to spells but the disable goes through it so don't worry. It's a 7 secs (with agh) disable and if some of their friends try to hit you they get Nightmare-d.

After that you can always Enfeeble then hope your carries can do their job.
