You got scammed - Deal with it.
But if that is the reason, using options on steam profile you can "make trade offer" with anyone even if you've just added them. It will be easier for hackers to do this. This is what I've been doing to give my new friends some items. But I can't give nontradeable items.
It is more difficult to trade using "invite to trade" feature (right click on friends list) since mobile authenticator or email confirmation is a pure mess.
