Dota 2

Does anyone play with a logitech m570 (Trackball mouse)
I've had to restrict myself to gaming with this mouse only as it reduces my RSI problems quite a bit and for that reason I've had to ignore a lot of games.
I am thinking about trying dota 2 with it even though it is probably not ideal at all.

I'm wondering does anyone use this mouse, has tried it or know someone who does that can tell me if it's possible. I'd like to know your experiences with it.

I know that in LoL there's 1 high rated player that uses it I think so that makes me think it should be possible with a lot of practise.

I'm no pro, but I do. I've played dota 2 for around 900 hours so far. I think that on average with this trackball, my clicks are more accurate, but a bit slower, than most players at my skill level. This doesn't affect things like last-hitting or denies, it affects applying skills/items/orders to multiple targets in quick succession. It might take me half a second longer to send newly spawned Naga Siren illusions to multiple lanes, for example.

So that's the tradeoff. For most heroes, my clicks are able to keep up with my brain, easily. So I do think the game is playable with this trackball.

I ended up not playing dota 2 for very long but I did try LoL again for while with the mouse and I think I was playing just as well as people with a normal mouse but it did take quite some getting used to and a lot of tweaking with the in game settings especially map scroll speed/sensitivity so that the trackball response movement was 1 on 1. I found that when you don't have the camera centered on your character but free roam which I guess everyone plays with that that is the most tricky part about this game.
