How to set-up the QWER that most people use

When I first played dota 2 I was preset with my abilities as 123564 (4 is ult) and my items as z x c v b n. Over the time I've been playing the game it appears most players use Q W E R and I think the numbers for items? This would probably be better for me because a lot of the time especially if I'm playing a hero with a lot of active items AND abilities, I sometimes can't reach over fast enough since there's a whole 2 rows between my items and abilities. I'm for starters confused why I wasn't automatically preset with the Q W E R set-up and I want to know how to set it up exactly? Just the default Q W E R set-up that most other people get put with.

I think QWER the default layout. I never changed it, except for items and sub.
I myself use QWER for skills and TF for sub-abilities.

I already know that, but when I first loaded up dota I was told 123564 for abilities and z x c v b n for items.

I want to know all the controls for the default Q W E R layout, everything. So I can try it out and see if it suites me.

There's this neat little button that says: reset hotkeys
In the options menu, bottom left.

Right that makes sense. For some reason it was set to MMO for mine xD Then again I've played a lot of MMO's in my time so it was quite an easy set-up for me.

I use QWER for abilities and a razer naga hex for items, because it's simple.

i use awd as qwe and d is ult with items all around the awed like s is boots

Used it on a practice 1v1 and my thoughts are mixed. The one problem with it is W, since I almost always used wasd for my camera so that's something I need to get used to.

i use it because i use fase boots alot and s is in the mid of all my skills so i can chain boots better and its a fps thing i think

I'll use it for a few games and see if it works, if not I'll go back to the MMO format.

when u first load the game up i believe it gives u 3 diffrent options and u must have picked the one most people dont

it automatically sets it up for you based on certain criteria, afaik, the default is qwer NUMPAD 789456 (dota 1 741852)

I don't remember being asked, but it's been a while since I first loaded up the game.
