"Sven is free lose"

My main hero is Sven and has been for a very long time. I win about 50% of the games with him. But I'm usually the most useful player in my team, managing to absord a whole lot of damage while dishing out even more (My average score with him is 10/4/12, which is good I did say)

The main problem with Sven is, is that he's a risky hero to play. He's very difficult to use when the enemies are aware of what Sven does best, dealing huge damage in close combat. He's extremely easily avoidable and thus not really a proper carry.

I've heard plenty of people scream 'Sven is free lose'. I was at 3900 mmr a bit back, but last month I've lost about 70% of my games all of a sudden (mainly due to leavers, few times the server crashed. Just a very bad month) and I'm back at 3400. When I was about 4k people immidiately started yelling 'no sven, sven always lose'.

Why? Why is Sven such a bad hero to so many? The only problem I can come up with is the fact that people consider him a good carry. Even though he's easily outcarried by almost any other hero with good lategame potential.

i mostly play sven as support instead of a carry now due to him being easy to counter support sven i think is better than carry sven but i could be wrong it maybe im not good at being a carry but try support sven he reli good at it

Get a blink on sven after Treads, MoM and BKB. Sven is an Epic carry.

Also you are completely wrong when you say he get's outcarried by almost any other carry, he is one of the hardest carries in the game. Also an epic pusher and a quick farmer.

Also my almost 70% win rate with sven speaks for itself, I get MoM everytime. It is an epic item, got quite a few rampages thanks to that item.

What half baked idiot does not? I go for treads, armlet and mom and I'm ready for my mid game massacre mayhem, later get crystalis, sange and yasha and daedalus. BKB if there is too much incapacitator. And yes, he is one of the hardes carriers in the game.

MoM is so freaking good on Sven but if the enemy has nukes and you don't have BKB what do you expect...
Lina just recently got that buff so yeah...
Sven with MoM and Daedalus destroyes entire teams.
Either way sven is pretty garbage in the early game and needs tons of baby sitting to become really powerful.

Edit : just wanted to add that Sven has a built in movement speed and armor buff, a cleave and tons of damage so what are you missing ? Attack speed. That's when MoM comes in a very good and cheap attack speed item that also gives lifesteal.

Sven is one of the most powerful carries when used effectively. But since he isn't all hard to counter, it can be a difficult task especially at the beginning of the match. And really, the only way to make him do massive damage would be to activate ALL of his abilities and items at once before unleashing his Storm Gauntlet.

Very effective but I find myself having to make plenty of retreats in the early to mid game.

My stadard Sven is Treads, MoM, BKB, Daedelus, Heart, AC

Maybe through a BF if my farm is really good.
Also I mostly play him as an offlane carry.

Blink is loads of fun, activate bkb, mom, warcry and ulti up > blink in hammer and get that ultra kill or rampage.

Don't be one of those guys that doesn't level up Warcry, is really good at pushing towers and diving towers.

I personally absolutely distaste MoM but alright. You're wasting the early tankiness sven naturally has with it. I rather go Armlet, threads and perhaps a hyperstone.

I never said or implied I main one hero. My main hero, the hero I like most and play most is Sven.

This is probably 1 of the main reasons why most players dislike sven in their lineup, the fact that most players rush MoM on Sven despite his glaring weakness, he can be easily kited. The fact that MoM makes him even more vulnerable than he already is after his enemies have gotten out of their stun makes him a 'kill them before they kill me' hero for MoM rushers and sadly the meta hero picks atm is able to deal with MoM sven very easily....

That being said though, sven is definitely not a sure lose hero if played correctly. I would rather grab a casual morbid mask (if you really need the lifesteal) and rush BKB after treads as soon as possible to ensure he can withstand ganks in general...Pick up either Curiass or Offering or Daedalus or even a Blink Dagger and team up with a teammate wisp/abyssal/oracle for some happy easy fun times...

I'm not sure why sven is a "free lose" He has a good attack damage, cleave, tanky-ish, good move speed with ability, stun. If you have the right team comp, like enigma, magnus or dark seer. Then you will be a walking wrecking ball destroying people's ****.

From my past experiences with Sven ( most as playing with him as supporting him ), he really shines when carried by decent supports.
