What is Ganking?

Im farely new to the game and when people say gank I have no Idea what they are talking about if you can post something in the comments to help me out that would be cool

"Ganking" is the act of moving to another lane (or after the laning phase, any part of the map where you think there are enemies) with the intention of trying to get a kill with the additional numbers. In other words, "Come to my lane, we'll mob this guy like a pack of thugs".

I am too very new to this game. So I would say read guides for the game.

ganking is a synonym to 'ambushing'
so if someone says "hey, let's gank X hero" it means they wanna get together with you (and possibly other teammates) and ambush (therefore killing) an enemy hero
ganking does not always have to be in groups; you can gank heroes all by yourself

Ganking is like a surprise attack. Usually in the person who is "ganking" your lane sneaks up on your opponent(s) and attempts to kill him. This can be done by the ganker going in first or by someone already in the lane going in first. If someone is asking for a gank, they want someone to come into their lane and score a kill with them ( more successful if you catch them off guard). Usually supports are the ones who gank lanes and often there are more than one ganking heroes things like ward and smoke of deceits will also aid the success of ganks; information of enemy positions is key.
