just remember how fast your attack speed and the damage of your hero.
learn to freeze the lane. you can look this up
and 3, know when to push and when your creeps are pushed up go and farm the hard camp if you can (say with a morphling). or go and take a stack your support should have done (if you're in a higher bracket)
Try practicing both range and melee heroes, also there are some differences on range heroes right clicks. For example: gyro/sniper against drow/enchantress right clicks.
when i say decent carry i mean like for starters my bad. its also the minimum for a carry in a tough lane is what i mean.
Don't worry about the numbers as that will depend on your lane partner and enemies in lane.
If you end up with a bad laning stage, get some lifesteal/regen and head into the jungle and farm. Carry tp and port to unattended lanes if any.
PA and Viper are good for practice.
Or you could practice with supports, only instead of last hitting enemy creeps you deny your own.
One good trick to learn is target an enemy hero with an auto attack while near the creeps. When the creeps target you, walk back towards your tower. This will put the creeps you want to last hit on your side of the creep wave. That makes them much easier for you to hit and also gives you better protection. If the enemies target you to harrass, your creeps are now closer to them and will get more hits on them. This is especially useful if you are melee.
I dont do this as i dont like having auto attack on. That said, this hrings up another thing that helps. You should do a fake attack on the creep you are going to last hit before you want to hit it, then cancel that attack. This helps by making sure you are in position to hit it and gives you a feel for your hit timing just before you need to last hit.
Even though my last hits are very low, it's only because I play cores that don't need farm or can do without last hits like timber and supports who shouldn't last hit. But my carries always have great farm.
