Visage too difficult?
Hello community,
I recently played a game of Dota as Visage and tried him out once again.
Now, I would not call me good at micromanagement but I can use Tab, Q-W-E-R and my mouse.

It was not too much fun for me and before you would leave a comment here, please keep in mind that I do not want to hear about your potentially imense micromanagemnt skills, how much of a noob I am and how balanced DotA seems to be at the moment but I would Valve want to change how Visage works and plays in order to improve his gameplay.

For me Visage is one of the heroes you'd call too difficult for the common audience.
I agree but isn't that a bad thing? I've done some research on what people thing about Visage and it seems like people are either having trouble playing him or do not try him at all. Some say that they would be able to play him fairly well as semi-carry or roaming mid-laner. I do not know where those players come from but in my MMR bracket he is supposed to be some kind of a support or roaming nuker.
However, I have not seen him for at least 200 games and giving the few pro players out there a challenge makes me thing of who Valve is aiming at as a player base. I would love to play him, maybe having the option to switch difficulty but right now I feel like the controls Dota offers aren't good enough to play him well as a normal public player. I actually thing that his abilities (especially the passive) are made in order to compensate the bad controls of him and his units. You'll have to send him right into the fight if you want to stun effectively and use him as a hero at the same time/selection.

Personally I find him to be a very cool but unique hero with an interesting playstyle.
I would - coming to an updated version - really appreciate his ultimate to be designed slightly differently. The familiars should still be selectable but if they were not selected at the moment, act as if they were an aura, following Visage and attacking nearby units without standing still while attacking. Visage should get a D and a F skill, both being the stuns of the familiars, selectable AoE stuns cloaked as predictable skillshots.

Well, now I would like to hear your impressions of Visage and if you would agree or disagree with me.

I think he isn't much different than other heroes, like those who control creeps from the forest. They aren't going to change the micro part of Visage.

Edit: They also have other buttons besides just tab to control those units. You can use the select all other units, select all units, and select hero buttons to micro fairly well when just attacking. You will have to tab to use their skills though.

For me to play micro heroes, I found that the best thing to do was change my control scheme. I have t as my cycling through button, my bottom row of keys (z-b and space) are my item slots, and i have my number keys as control groups (which you set with control plus one of those buttons). I set mine up to play some Meepo, but the changing cycling of control groups to T was a big deal for me. I have tab as set to my "select all" button

You can change your key bindings in the options. Making it easier to control/switch between the main character and the characters you control. I use the same keybindings for Visage as I do for Enchantres, Meepo, Chen, etc. etc....

I played a Single Draft and one of my picks were Visage. My other picks were Tidehunter and Sniper. I prefer playing less played characters most of the time. I go for the hard win to push myself. Sniper would have been easy.

Here is the match info, watch it if you like.

Also, apparently most of the other team did not understand Visage's mechanics.
Leshrac using ult and trying to run away, building stacks on my nuke.
Clinkz trying to solo me, using his attack speed buff ability + fire arrows, so I take half of his attack speed buff for myself with Grave Chill.
