I still run an old GTX970 system. After certain update like the one today, crashes the GPU so much that dota2 becomes unplayable. Anyone having the same issue?

try resetting the gpu settings to default. also in dota try running it on vulcan.

I would suggest upgrading your pc. Rtx 3060 ti is mid range price with your GTX970.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems setting video to Exclusive fullscreen worked for my system strange tho.

Well trying to stretch the system until it runs no more so at the moment not thinking to spend cash on NVIDIA anymore they overprice their products

AMD RX 6700 is more expensive. But yes its on par if not higher performance than RTX 3060ti.
