Don't forget that valve will not be putting 25% of sales from the battle pass into the international prize pool after "part 1" ends. The new "part 2" was designed to take money from the pro players and put it directly into his pocket. Due to this greedy and evil move that has really shaken everyone's faith in valve- Sales are drastically reduced from the last international (it's art about a quarter of what it was at TI10. This swag bag is nothing more than a desperate attempt to gain favor and increase battle pass sales.

They have granted access to content, you don't see new players saying wow Valve gave me a month of Dota+ every time they start playing the game.
As for the Arcana, again they have just unlocked it as an option but it isn't truly yours as it is bound to the account and not marketable etc

People are so quick to defend Valve even after they have screwed so many players and talent over with the DPC/PGL tournaments. But that wasn't enough they went a step further and split the battletrash into 2 parts which in turn has reduced the prizepool.
On top of that they have messed the community about by locking numerous features behind the second part of the battlepass. All of the Treasure 2 cannot be opened until then......why?

This has been the most lackluster battletrash in history, it feels like there has been little to no thought put into. They have removed so much and in turn said "here have these 2 other treasures.....but we're so unimaginative that we have made Mars the ultra rare for both chests"

Then you get all of the freeloaders like Kagami etc blowing off gaben because he gave them access to a battlepass 1 week before the main event ended and the ability to unlock an Arcana.....

Also the people that will be most happy with this swag bag are the ones with no money to spend so I don't it will work as intended to increase battle pass sales. However it may bring some people into/back into the game.

They give away millions of dollars worth of potential sales while pocketing millions of dollars from battle pass sales, which puts them at 0 loss/gain. That's not even bringing up the $3 Dota Plus or the $10 battle pass for free as well. These swag bundles are effectively $48 worth of stuff, and all you have to do to get them is play 10 game.

If that's your definition of "greedy", then I don't know what to tell you.

It doesn't cost them a cent to give you an in-game item you moron. No i haven't claimed it yet.

And nothing wrong with that. League of legends give free cosmetics as well but it is expired on BP ended. But this free arcana is permanent.

They gave away at least $3.5 million in money they could've made.

Sure, they didn't take money from their pocket and give it to us, but they did give us money that could go into their pocket instead. It's effectively the same thing, but in a different order. This bundle is hundreds of thousands of arcana sales that they won't get the money for, which is millions upon millions of dollars they forfeited for this bag.

why are u complaining about free ♥♥♥♥? lol yet another entitled karnen I TO spent $ and appreciate a free Arcana for my favorite hero I don't see the problem here at all tbh just blah blah blah blah

tbh i couldnt care less about the pros having a smaller prize pool then previously, it has no impact on me whatsoever. Nor is it mine or anyone elses place to complain about it aside from the pros competing for said prizepool. Assuming the grab bag was given to us because they wanted to "regain faith" as you said. Then id say they are doing even better because this will actually do something for most of the playerbase
