Why do people play this?

Compared to League of Legends, Dota 2 just seems awful in every way.

Graphically much uglier and honestly looks like very lame to play (very slow pacing).

Less characters so less choice on playstyles...

like why? why'd you play Dota instead of LoL? I wish to know cuz I don't understand

I tried to get into LOL after the release of arcane. I really dig the LOL world setting and arcane is just 10000x better then the dota anime. there is no competition. the characters are cool. the lore stuff is super cool. I really want to play a lol based rpg.

but when it comes to games dota is the winner.

1. LOL is ugly as sin. I had hoped the graphics would be better then when i tried playing it 5 years ago and its not.

2. in lol you have to buy heroes and they all feel the same. maybe its the limited pool, but there wasnt one i played that felt that different from the other.

3. where is my courier? going back to foutain is lame.

4. this game is just kind of boring.

DOTA is a more complicated and dynamic game then LOL. all the heroes feel different the guides are great. and you can build a hero differently every game.

I think it is perhaps unfair when people say they're the same game. because they're not. they play differently. sure they have a simillar feel. but i think its wrong to say they are the same. you can't play lol like dota and you cant plat dota like lol. i think its unfair to make the comparison.

dota is just a really fun game to me. its fun to make goofy builds with items. its fun to pull a heavens halberrd out on a huskar when your losing at the 45 minute mark and rolling down mid lane to victory. its just really fun.

and idk, maybe i didnt give lol the chance to give me fun exspierences. but thats cuz lol was just sucky to get into.

I mean everything you say about Dota, LoL does as well, except the courier thing, I don't know what that is.

But going back to the fountain is really not a big deal. There are champions who have massive speed to get back, (Quinn, Sion,)

or you can use teleport as any champion, some champions can even get multiple teleports.

there's also an item, the Guardian Angel, which prevents you from dying, though you can die again if the enemy is still alive and your team isn't there to help,

Anivia also has a built in revive in her passive,

and Zilean, can revive people with his ultimate.

so idk why that's such a big deal.

Edit: forgot Akshan, who can literally revive your entire team if he kills the enemy who killed your team

Both games are fantasy based and and such not to be compared regarding any realistic distance/damage, protection, visibility aspects like you can do in the genre of wargaming. They are both build around a crude cause and effect model in a cartoonish environment, designed for certain peer groups. LoL has the advantage of a much larger, broader and less elitist player base. I guess much easier to work with regarding queue times and matchmaking control.

Because dota is way more interesting due to high diversity of situations its mechanic provides that lol gave up to streamline the process. Why would anyone play literally nerfed version in dota? When denying creeps is removed from mechanic, but they still want to keep the word to seems like big boys? In dota you fight for every creep. In lol you cannot attack or benefit from your creeps even if enemies are out of lanes.

In dota you can lead creeps, pull and stack - in lol you cant - maximum you can lead lane a bit to the side but they will return immidiately.

In dota you have tons of mobility items with low cooldown. In lol they only added those not so long ago, and lolers immidiately started complaining that it breaks skillshot based heroes. How much it of lol Champs I leave you to answer and they still inferior to dota about mobility.

In dota you have MASSIVE map with camps all over that spawn every minute. In lol it's 2-5 minutes to spawn.

The basic mechanics of lol also Pay less attention to skill, so coming back from outfarmed opponents is way harder if even possible.

Also they broke balance of classes in late updates.

And no pause, constant giving up of players and their leaving during pick phase because their stupid matchmaker again gave them role they didn't wanted for?

Why would anyone want to play lol, when there is dota that is better in every way?

Everything you say is just completely wrong. In LoL you can do all the things you've just said. You know absolutely nothing about League!!!!

Stop spreading misinformation. You really don't know how to play League and it shows.
