Dota 2

Why is it so many none speaking ENGLISH players on EU SERVERS?
Why is it that so many new players joined the game and none of them speak english, uses all chatt and voice with their own native language.

Can you on valve please make everyone pass a english test before they can play dota in team co-op. Communication in Dota is key to success but its impossible when i have so many random players screaming "F¤ck your mother" on mic when you ask them a question.

What is happening to dota is the game dying?

The recent weeks its pretty much inpossible to play with your team if you are alone, because most of the "team players" are not even trying to play with you.

As for now im feeling like the game is dying, do anyone else here feel like they have the same issue.

PS: my conduct score is 9.782 :steamsalty::steamsad:

As you mention by yourself, language is not the key but mutual understanding. Dota2 by itself is not very demanding communication wise. That‘s why chatwheel, pings and alt key hints work. In addition, most communication in Dota2 in certain skill brackets is flaming, raging and cursing.

Game is more fun to play when u can communicate with others and this wasnt a problem a couple of weeks ago. I been switching to RUST for some weeks and now when i come back to Dota i feel its so diffrent then it used to be. So the real question is, are there more players joining the EU servers now, that doesnt understand English?

I am not aware of recent patches that caused server populations to change. Wait, the longer queueing times may have urged some more Russian players to mark all three European servers, as recommended by Valve anyway. However cyrillic letter language native speakers dominate the European servers for a while now. With every game they find enough other native speakers the less they need to switch to any secondary language.

Well this can cause a problem for the future. That another server region needs to be added to be able to play with others, that speak english. I rather play with others that speaks english and wait 15 min for que, then just go into a game with people i cant have "fun with" and understand/talk to. Videogames for me is communicating learning to know other players and maybe even make som friends!

Up this thread! I am russian (LOL) but really worried about that as well. Cause sometimes I am trying to escape from Russian super-toxic environment and I found EU servers like a rescue vault. Unfortunately it is not a russian-free zone. It looks like the same RU server with the same russian ppl but with higher ping. xD

haha i feel you brother. im Finnish myself and i can't stand my countrymen sometimes so i flee to US servers :steamhappy: slightly laggy with delay but worth it, at least i don't have to listen to my toxic and overly cringy countrymen.

So the legends about Russains is true? :O Feels bad that you leave your own servers... They are hosted from SWEDEN, and i live there, but I dont want to play with Russains for same reasons you pointed out x(

Hmm, i might try that out too, but it feels like its a quick fix not a solution that i rather have valve develop.

No i know that, but there is a setting in the game to set it to other languages (QUE Settings). Also if you wanna play the game as most gamers, they try and communicate as best as they can. Problem isnt only languages, but the will to communicate with lissening and make plays.

Games online is mostly the reason that Im as good as I am on english. There for i think many others can benefit of talking and using a universal tool

Also my question in this thread is... Is it getting worse then before and if so why? are others experiencing the same thing?

a tool like one you are asking for is discriminative and racist in all sense, if it weren't 100% of games would have already implemented it, you are not the first one to think about something like that

Man if you are talking about my topic, with "taking a test". You cant seriously think that I think thats the solution to this problem. Im sayin it to prove my point on how this might be a BIG problem for THE WHOLE community in DOTA.

I love this game and i dont want players to drop the game, this has a really big negative impact on the community, that will effect us all if we dont create awareness and find a solution.

Alot of non English speaking players que up in those servers on purpose, to get into matches faster since their own servers aren't that populated.

Hypothesis

So people leaves their own servers, to get away from toxic people.

That starts the wave of new players joining in (like 2-3 years ago), and now even more transfer, so their own servers become empty and even more players transfer. Soon there might be only EU and not others servers to select since the pool of players are decreasing.

hmmm, might be like this.
