Stuttering Issues/FPS Lag in Dota2: Discussion and Possible Fixes

Hi everyone,

i have been experiencing game stutters very often to the point where it became frustrating to play a Ranked game. So i decided to debugg the problem and do little research.
For those that are unfamiliar with this problem, watch these videos from AbsolutZer0 and Samidamaru and others:

Possible Fixes are:

• Going to your GPU setttings and disabling vsync.
  
• Enable GPU triple buffering.
  
• Allow your GPU to use Maxmum Power.
  
• Running Dota2 on -dx11. (select Direct3D 11 in dota2 graphic properties)
  
• Disable vsync in dota2 graphic properties.
  
• Maximum FPS allowed in Dota2 = Two times your Monitors refresh rate ( ONLY IF you have a powerful GPU)
  
• If you have a weak GPU or you can't run the game higher than 60 FPS. Put the Maximum FPS on 60FPS and lower your graphics settings to the Minimum.
  
• Other fixes suggested in the comment section of above mentioned videos.

For me it didn't matter if i had the Display Mode on Fullscreen or Borderless Window. So i kept it on Borderless Window for fast Alt+Tabbing. But Running the game in Exclusive Fullscreen may help in some cases if you have general low FPS.

Forced Vsync in Windows 10?

This issues might be related to Windows users only, as far as i know no one using linux machines encountered this issue.
