if they put counter skadi there no point wasting 5k+ gold for that item
alternative you buy status resist item(sange) or halberd to stop then hitting you
If they're building it to have an upper hand in combat - build more attack speed.
I wonder if SnY can be considered a good counter item. More stats + raw move speed and attack speed should definitely and directly lower the consequences of Skadi's slow.
Maybe ask supports to help you avoid being kited, by "force staffing" you into the Skadi-wielding enemy unit.
What you're engaging in is sometimes called 'Complacent Gaming Syndrome'. You find a playstyle you like and use it every game. Then, when someone applies a counter to your playstyle, you look for a 'counter' rather than realizing that the counter only works because of your narrow playstyle.
Yeah, its the type of games where growing your skill directly may not help in most cases. Item building strategy is one of the hardest concepts to grasp, because you will never know if it worked until you actually review the result of the match afterwards.
Skadi is a great item, but it is rarely something that is a game-changer through the health regen reduction alone; its the movement slow/lock-down that is more damning.
