The best counter is a hero with a dispell. Enchantress, shadow demon, oracle, for example. Otherwise, there is always the option to buy a nullifier although it is quite expansive. You could burst him or the one he is protecting with magical damages, but it is quite hard with bonus strenght. (Timber could do it against strenght hero though, pure damages + attribute loss).

Euls is a dispel but its single target. Old diffusal was a dispel before they changed it to a slow which came with charges. If a right clicker can't be bothered, mkb for bkb and omni ult peircing damage. but the damage is still greatly reduced. Also that new revenant mask is 5 attacks of full magic damage. Not to mention heros that deal pure damage such as axe, silencer or OD. If you have the option to disengage, that would also work.
