Shadow amulet 100% griefing item.
The fix is so simple too, just make it not give any xp when the item is enabled. I dont understand why they still havnt bothered to fix it.

Typical private profile nonsense. Also, amulet is not a "very powerful item", a single dust and it is useless.

Data on dotabuff are already a proof that this is massively used to grief and something could be done about this.

So? you see 4 popular support heros (witch doctor, crystal, shadow shaman, lion) use this item a lot.. Which is.... what? surprising? a grief?? man... be serious and use your brain to give argument .

Not a single support hero with more than 50% winrate with it, because people use it, it doesn't mean it is good. And you can see roughly how many games are ruined using this item each week.

Oh yes, you can. Work with positive incentives instead of negative punishments. Give people a good reason to behave well. Organize the game that playing in a positive way gives you visible progress instead of winning alone. Don't make people feel that playing Dota2 is wasted time. Grant something for any minute played actively and positively in the game. Once again, it is a game, not a thepary. If there are some griefers who don't want to play the game but ruin it, there is nothing valve can do except implementing mecanisms to prevent it, and to punish them. Should we pay people to behave properly?
Maybe that would be a solution if griefing would be really rare. But if it becomes a common habit, there's something wrong in general besides a single item. You have to cure the disease instead of fighting the symptoms. And strengthen the healthy part of the community is a good option.

it is used to build glimmer cape which has 51% winrate. So if the people using it don't have the time to build their glimer cape because their match is so bad they will lose, else they will probably win.
What's your point? Nothing.

My point is that thousands of games are ruined by shadow amulet each week.

+1, people grief because they see how this "system" is working.
Dev thinks they will be under the radars, but in fact, people see them.
so, you have something like :

- 35% sad, usually paying their 3.35€ per month (not that bad, playing a lot). Until they go somewhere else. pissed off like hell.

- 60% griefing , usually paying nothing (knowing they will always have bad scores, if they want to win, they decide to get good scores and lose instead, stealing your gold, your kills, etc, usually smurfing like hell, between 4 or more accounts).

- 5% not playing really often, not even good (but thinking they are), happy and playing other expensive games. paying them XX € ( 30% for Valve ) . <<== this 5% is very very interesting for Valve, because they cost nothing on Dota,

Now sum up the numbers and see why this "community" is so toxic.

In fact, for 1 real human toxic, there are 4 toxics accounts..

Don't say it's human nature, because it's the developper's nature instead. their game, their decisions, their results. Their smurfing policy is not enforced. only 1 or 2 guys on 100 are banned.

@OP:
amulet is a very powerful item as a support, I use it like hell.
It would be a cataclysm to remove it. It can save carrys, you, etc.. it's a must-have really.

Never suggested removing it. They can tweek it so it cannot be abused by griefing. If you stay invis in it for more than 20 secs, you just gain 0 xp from any sources around you until you move, then the item goes on a short cooldown. The item is usually used for quick escapes, or invis early on when enemy has no detection. But it isnt used to usually hide for long periods of time, so fixing it would be to make it so the player cannot abuse it that way.
