Did you expect that Dota would make you an Immortal?
Player A can win 10 of 10 games and be calibrated as Guardian. Player B can win 5 of 10 games and be calibrated as an Archon.
Your rank and your MMR are not based on how many games you win or lose in calibration.
Your initial calibration is based on your pre-calibrated hidden MMR. Any calibration after your initial is simply based on your pre-existing MMR. Seasonal recalibration games have a higher weight, meaning if you win, you gain more MMR than a normal game, if you lose, you lose more MMR than a normal game. Typically, players will lose or gain 0-200 MMR during recalibration.
You're dwelling too much on the rank medal. Rank is just a shiny thing. Matchmaking is based on your actual numerical MMR not on your rank medal.
And did you not read the part I posted about initial calibration being based on your pre-calibrated hidden MMR? Before you play ranked, you receive a MMR based on your game performance, it just isn't shown to you, hence the term "hidden MMR." When you do your initial calibration, you are basically seeded off of your hidden MMR. You can gauge your MMR by the skill bracket you are placed in the most during your pre-calibration games.
Maybe its Valve's way to punish smurf accounts. What's your mmr on your previous account?
The only way it would be a punishment for smurf accounts would be if OP was a 1k smurf, which is kinda pointless.
Non-sense. What do you mean? That his old account has 1k-ish mmr and that Valve punish him by playing with 200mmr players? It has to be higher than 4k or 5k. Make sense.
Oh yes, definitely, Topson watch out, OP is your competition for TI10.
You can't make anything out of my response and proceeded to call out on a TI winner who do not care about this. Make sense? make sense.
