Then people just take not their main but their smurf to play with friends. This way they get easier games anyway. That‘s just a smurf support patch.

Well you could make some more Dota friends that are actually in your skill bracket or you could work hard, learn, practice, get better at Dota and increase your own MMR. Either one would work.

If you don't have time to try to improve and want to play with friends beyond your MMR bracket then as already mentioned you can play unranked or custom games.

You can lose and drop lower rank cause now the badge also can go down not just the mmr. Or ask your friend to up their mmr. Simple as that.

Mainly it‘s the other way round, you need a lower mmr on you high rank friends to play with them and as it is, the best way to do so is smurfing. So before the patch parties would queue as friends with their true mmr, after the patch they queue with friends with an artificial lower smurf mmr which leads even to easier party boosting. Thus I don‘t know if this reduction of maximum party mmr difference is good for the purpose.

Read the patch carefully.

I just wonder who is willing to spend 100 hours (of pure gameplay, so like 150 hours playtime if not more) just to get a new account to play specifically ranked with their lower ranked friends and how do they make it so they don't calibrate too high or get too much MMR after already being detected as a smurf. And if the answer is ruin some games, how do they not get banned.

Did I get something wrong? If you are Divine or higher your friends get an artificial push in mmr if they play with you. If they have more than 2000 mmr difference to you, you can‘t play with them in ranked. So, if you want to party up with your friends and play ranked you better queue with your lower ranked, lower mmr smurf account. And now it makes sense to maintain a smurf account just for that (and for some nice little solo queue stomps). And to keep your smurf account low you lose any other game on purpose. Easy smurf, easy gaming. This patch doesn‘t supports playing as a fixed team and doesn’t support the anti-smurf efforts.

Yes, you seem to have interpreted it wrong (as far as ranked matches go anyway);

To artificially lower the mmr on an existing account they'd need to play a bunch of games and lose consistently, which involves spending a lot of time losing games just to lower the mmr on an account. Can't see that becoming too much of a problem. "Whatcha doing friday night?""
"Oh just gonna play 6 hours of dota and deliberately lose all of them so I can lower my mmr to play some games with my friends..."
Accounts doing that are going to rack up reports very quickly.

To create a new lower mmr account to smurf with your friends, you need to play the 100 hours minimum to enable ranked on your new account; again, can't see this being a big problem.

No, what I meant is, the basic idea of having a smurf account in higher rank is anyway that it has a significant different mmr than your main, usually much lower like at least 1 k, more probable 2k.

Now, you get an additional reason to have and maintain such an alternate account. You can use it not only to stomp lower ranked solo matches but also have fun with your lower ranked friends. The new patch supports to play with them using your smurf account for easier and successful gaming. To compensate for this you can do some yolo gaming or try some funny builds and have fun in solo queue with this account with at least a side intention to lose and thus keep the alternate account at that lower mmr.

The two measures, artificially rising the mmr of your lower ranked party members beyond divine and the decreased maximum mmr difference urges high ranked players to use their alternate account, best below divine, when playing with their friends.

For me, that's the straight forward consequence of the patch to keep on playing ranked with my friends.
