But there is a chance to stir things up a bit with „seasonal“ recalibration in 10 ranked matches. But this is only for the ranked mmr. On the other hand, Valve kind of abandoned seasons in Dota2 shortly after they introduced it in 2017. I guess people complained too much about the potential loss in their life long achievement.
Nowadays saisonal recalibration is voluntary and every player can initiate the recalibration at any time but only once in a season. But seasons are not well defined anymore in Dota2 (besides the seasons of the Anime series). Starting with 6 month - 7 month in the seasons 2017 - 2018 we had a >12 month season in 2019 - 2020. Right now we have reached 12 months in the actual season and no announcement about a new season yet.
As said, in my opinion, seasons are kind of gone in Dota2.
