customizing skill points in guides

I'm a new player to the game, so I started off using one of the in-game guides to help with item suggestions and skill-point allocation. I'm now trying to branch out into editing the guide to include my own item builds and skill builds.

For editing the item builds, I've seen where I can go to the Shop and edit the build (basically creating a new one), but I can't seem to change the ability priorities for when I'm leveling up. How can I change my now copied/customized guide to change the ability priorities for when I level up?

PS -- Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've been googling for a while and apparently they changed it so you can no longer do this on the site...so I'm hoping a post will get me an updated answer on how to do this.

I think if its the in-game guide you can probably do it in game when you're working on the guide. Otherwise you can always just follow with how you want to skill the abilities.

Thanks for the reply! The only way I know of to edit the guide right now is to edit the item layout in the Shop. Is there another screen dedicated to editing the guide itself?

I'm not sure, I used the guides to understand what to build when I was new but now that I know pretty much all the heroes and shop items I ignore the guide and just buy straight from the shop or search bar. I think you can probably edit it in the strategy time before a game or maybe in a demo.

Im afraid that you most likely will need to create guide from the scratch.

Now I think Valve lets it languish.

But there is Heroes → Guides in the main Dota2 menu. That provides a full toolset now.
