Impossible to queue for Co-op vs bots now.. Thanks, for taking away the only mode I play lol.

As in the title, I've come to thank the devs for making PVE coop games impossible bc after 5 minutes of waiting it puts you in a bots only match without asking.

I only play vs bots. With the debilitating forced choice of bots, it was already very hard to find a game, with often over 30min waiting etc.

But now they have taken even that bad option away as you will automatically go into a bot match after 5 min wait.

Effectively this means co-op vs bot matches, has now been eliminated from the game. It is almost as if the devs are trying to make people leave the game. And this in the very update targeted towards new players. *slow headshake in disbelief*

them removing the exp trophy leveling from that mode was already annoying.

I think the average new player is more likely to be scared off by a 30-minute queue than a match full of bots. That's Valve's reasoning for putting an arbitrary queue limit on Noob Queue and Co-op Bots.

Thanks for the condolences! My use case is a very rare one, still Valve could make the game to welcome all play preferences.

@Venti I think valve is just being careless.

All I need to fix this is a tick box saying "wait for human teammates before starting match".

If they want to lower queue time, they can add another box: "play vs any type of bot".

This last problem has been there for years it's so terrible! The population looking for bot games, which is low but consistent, is forever being divided in 4 different bot types. That makes it stupidly hard to find 5 players. This terrible "improvement" has been there for years.

But now they've made it 100% impossible to play the only game mode I'm interested in playing....

I just like watching Pro DOTA. Then after I enjoy playing a game with people against bots. Is that so hard an ask?

From reactions from Dota2 support I got the clear impression that bot-coop was always meant to be a new player mode only, not a mode used and populated by mature but shy players. They completely dried out the once exiting hidden underground bot-coop community. As a straightforward consequence they reorganized bot-coop mode as a part of their new (most necessary) new player feature.

I'm with you. There are times where I just want to chill with random people vs bots while zipping tea. As of now LoL easily beats dota in this area when it used to be the opposite.

Now it is completely intensive and a competitive nature.

I just cannot play normal PVP dota though. I have a life and a job, so there is no way to play without getting reported and abused all the time, just for not knowing enough intricacies of the game. This is the ONLY game I ever played where you get officially punished for being bad/noob. It's incredible.

I just want to have some fun playing with people. And even in coop vs bots people are sometimes abusive. But it's not too bad there.

But that seems to be all over now. Instead of forcing people to play PVP, they just force to uninstall :(.

I can concur. I've tested it and twice I got matched with a human or two and the rest were "friendly" bots vs. all bots. This reminds me of the way SMITE sometimes handles bot matches. Really bad design and I hope they undo this.

Yes, I agree - after Dota2 support told me literally that Dota+ will never consider any reward for playing bot-coop I cancelled my subscription and looked for other games who integrate bot-coop much better.

And I can say, there are games out there and these games have much better playable pvp modes too. After over 4 years and more than 6000h of quite satisfying Dota2 gaming, I noticed that the game isn‘t designed for me. They literally don‘t want me as a customer.

Selling my Dota2 items right now to free up some money. Only after 3 month I have more pvp matches in my new game than I had in Dota2 over the entire 4 years. Despite, as a newbie having a win rate lower than 50%, I feel much more welcome and comfortable as in Dota2 pvp modes.

really disheartened that they removed co-op bot match option. it was already extremely long que time of 15min average but now that's gone too, final straw and this camel is gone.
too bad, i liked chilling with other players and playing bots, sad times

I think Valve has never considered the bot-coop mode being a real mode but a beginners playground. They want to see mature players feed their mmr based pvp modes instead of "hiding" in relaxed game modes. That's part of their definition of competition I guess.
