Dota 2

Unranked queue feels like trash for a new player.
Title says it all, I have less than 40 games in Dota, and less than 5 wins. Each time I'm getting matched against people that have 1000's of games and wins on the enemy team. I can never learn b/c each game ends up being a pub-stomp, is there any way to fix this?

I'm new too (like 600 hours). Have you tried the new player experience yet? It's easier than unranked. Your experience sounds normal compared to mine. Dota is a notoriously difficult game to get into.

That's not true. As of the time of this post, you currently have 14 wins and 25 losses total.[www.opendota.com] And in many of those lost games, you have contributed heavily to those losses.

That's how Dota is.as a newbie you just need to suck it up till you get a decent grasp of the game.i recommend play some turbo games to get used to hero skills and itemization as it's much faster to lvl and get gold.just keep in mind it won't reach you how to lane so for Laning I recommend do some practise with bots.
And finally there is this stigma by higher MMR players that unranked doesn't matter but a lot play to win.unranked can be much more competitive than ranked to be honest.

How is 600 hours new? You could have legit a more than 500 games and a fair amount of experience already.

600 hours is basically nothing in a game like this.

Alright right, the average dota match last up to 45 mins. So let's say you have 600 hours and we divide that by 45 mins, that is roughly 800 matches. There is no way you can be new after 800 matches.

Nah 600 hours is still relatively new.you gotta consider everything from drafting,Laning, dealing with different game conditions based on draft, hero power spikes, itemization, item timing etc.there is over 100 hero's so no match is really the same unless it's pro scene where they always make nearly exact same draft and counterpicks.
I feel until you've played about 2k hours you are still quite new to game in terms of experience when you factor all the different scenarios in.

That's assuming no loading, queue time, or anything inbetween starting up the game and actually getting into a match which is completely unrealistic. My point is that you're not gonna learn very much after only 800 matches unless you have someone that is very high skiklled teaching you every game. Also that average is just that, an average, you're not gonna end up with only games with that sort of duration because 60+ minute matches are a lot more common than you think in lower skill brackets.

Do NOT play Turbo! It is filled with sweatlords and trolls. Play bot games if you want a decent grasp on heroes and items. Play unranked for experience against other players.

Yes so a more realistic amount of games would most likely be around the 400s+. But even that I struggle to call new, you'd be fairly familiar with the game already at that point. If you aren't then I have a word for that kinda person but for the sake of being a nicer person I'm not gonna mention it lol

They will lose a lot of their games when they are new unless they are carried anyway.turbo gives you more experience late game player Vs player whereas in normal unranked they will likely get stomped and never get their character high level.

Dota2 is much too much drama about losing. Or too much focus on winning. If it would be just losing, I guess, new players would accept this because this is quite usual for every game. But they get flamed by their over serious team mates and treated like ♥♥♥♥♥. Dota2 has a very poor welcoming culture.
