Radiance is a good build on: melee hard carries. But if you have hard pushers on enemy team it is more effective if you skip radiance and go for a early fighting build.

For example skip radiance on wk and go for armlet if enemy is taking towers too fast and your team can't really hold as 4.

Don't build radiance by default cause the guide tells you to. And for the love of Gabe don't build radiance on treant, Phoenix and bristle.

there many different aspects/conditions/situation when u can buy radiance for exp if team has TA radiance helps with her shield ability or when u have gold advantage early as carry like leoric and buying radiance wont hurt you but in all other cases i dont think ppl should rush radiance first item even if they are dominating early again it is depends on enemy condition of the game

Radiance is a pretty fantastic purchase on tanky offlaners. Generally, this item is picked up by someone who is capable of utilizing the DoT to flash farm the map (such as a Naga) or someone who can stick around in fights like Brewmaster, Spectre, Alch, Pos 3 Omniknight, etc.

If you find yourself being chain stunned, kited or blown up, Radiance is not the item to buy. If you're able to stick around and want to dish out lots of damage passively just as a result of that, could be good to buy (assuming getting this over a supportive aura item isn't griefing your team).

How is radiance on Doom? I would imagine that his scorching earth plus Radiance would melt people early on. However, Doom is notoriously slow so IDK if he can keep on top of people.

Scorched earth gives you bonus movement speed iirc. You can buy phased boots on Doom (I think)

1) Phoenix is a support hero, if you are building radiance and can afford radiance on phoenix, you are not doing your job as a support.
2) Phoenix is a ranged hero
3) You egg max 4-5 times in a single game, the cost of radiance doesn't justify for the slight miss chance it provides during egg
4) If your issue is getting cracked egg too fast then slow attack speed with fire spirits / shiva's gaurd. You can also swoop in on top of your allies so they have to chose between hitting you or your allies
5) hell even meme hammer is a more effective item on phoenix, it gives you tower pushing ability

You take radiance on a hero that will stay in a fight for a long time, and get the most value out of it. Characters such as WK come to mind. Since he has high HP, usually gets built tanky, has a built-in HP sustain, and literally 2 (or more) lives.

It was viable back when Doom had normal BAT and could play as a pos1 anti-carry against farmed Spectres, Faceless Voids, etc.
But now Doom is slower, doesn't scale into late game well, and lacks the ability to accelerate farming to a point where you can get radiance in a timely manner.
I'd only take it after I've had a couple of core items like bkb or blink, and specifically to deal with enemy heroes that rely on blink, such as Tinker.

The speed boost from scorched earth isn't that much, and Phase boots barely increases his speed. IMO, I would rather rush traveler's boots on Doom because his speed is godawful.
