Matchmaking too long?

I haven’t played dota2 in 3 years and wanted to get back to it. I haven’t calibrated my rank yet and it takes me at least 30-45 minutes to find a game!! Is this normal for i calibrated players? Or is there literally not enough players? I’m playing on both sea and aus servers so I don’t know why it takes me this long to find a game. Ive installed dota 2 days ago and within these 3 days I’ve played 2 games since it’s so frustrating trying to find a game!!! Any tips?

Damn, it hurts to even just read the lengths of those waiting periods.

No, mate. I play in the SEA server and my waiting period never crosses 60 secs.
I returned to the game after about a year and got recaliberated a few months ago - but even then, it still took an average of only 40 secs.

However, the above statement comes with strings attached - I queue for pos 4/5 only.
In general, I have found that the majority of players queue for core roles, thereby increasing the time spent in queue for each.
I have personally seen how easy it is for me to find matches when I queue for pos 4/5 only.

What is your behaviour score. Gave us the screenshot.

Does that actually affect queue time, unless OP's in low prio?

My lifetime behavior score is 5610? It has the straight face emoticon which I’m guessing is not a good sign lol

Err... yeah, that's not good.
I do know that only players with similar behavior scores get paired so...
But I'm still not sure why it takes you that long.

We’ll I’ve started finding an unranked game and have been waiting for 10 minutes so I think it’s pretty similar…

Its easy you just have to increase it to higher behaviour score. Then your queue time will be lower and you’ll find match faster.

If you make new account your behaviour score will be 5k too cause now behaviour score is imprinted to other account you make from the previous account.

Ok thanks lol guess I’m using my second account then, needs 60 hours more to play rank but it’s better than having to deal with hour long wait times

If you go unranked and queue for every mode at once, maybe that will help? And then you'll only have to play enough matches to boost your behavior score a bit.

Good luck! I'd offer to help but I live on the East-Coast US so we can't really play together without having a connection speed that would make DotA look like Chess.
