If I could I would erase every tiny little piece from directx out of the computer history.
I need to laugh about Microsofts comments where they say: "uhh we are so open source you see we bought github"
If they would give a ♥♥♥♥ to open source they would release bsd licensed directx on github!
Oh wait a moment. That would be the day when they are dead.
Well lets wait some days and it will happen anyway.
Damn you need only to read the first Microsoft comments on PNG, SVG and WebGL. "We will never support this format because it is evil" (and wait -> open) what did they really do?

More energy efficient. Maybe a little bit smoother?
My favourite is still Vulkan.
I finally got my vulkan to work properly tonight and you can SEE the difference in the latency of everything in the game, it's phenomenal.
I installed the Vulkan SDK to match the Runtime version and Dota didn't give me the fail to intialize vulkan - check GPU error :)
I want to see PUBG use vulkan next
GOnna try Underhollow now
I am currently using DX9 and dota2 takes time to load.
NVidias Vulkan implementation is done very well. After all shaders are in cache it is the smoothest experience I can get in Dota2 on my GTX1080 Ti.
Vulkan loads in 10s what dx9 takes 30 seconds to load
and the latency feels super sexy
My old dual core pc that uses intels built in graphics loads faster than my dx9 amd pc.
Just keep in mind, It doesn't mean that Vulkan would help you as well.
Your hardware must support that API by the GPU driver and if you are running Windows with Intei bulit in GPU then your CPU must be based at least on the Skylate architecture (The 6th gen) to get the full support of Vulkan's features.
If you want, There are cheap GPUs like the GT 1030 from NVIDIA and the RX 550 from AMD that support Vulkan perfectly.
I would test the VRAM usage and see how does it really requires. I remember the story with Doom 2016 that Vulkan couldn't run properly on 2GB VRAM cards.
But again, It's Doom 2016 which requires more and I could reach more than 4GB of VRAM usage easliy on maxed out settings at 1080p.
Is there any settings that I should test them out? (I have no problem with VRAM, GTX1070 8GB)
And you can obviously max out everything :)
When I first tried this, vulkan crashes once. But now I installed the proper SDK and i haven't had any issues. Played 6 games. Watched 3 before. and watch some while waiting for games ; it's pretty amazing :) Love the vulkan overheads :D My computer is incredibly silent during dota gaming.
