Banned till 2024 for smurfing
So I just got banned till 2024 and I want to know the reason. I'm smurfing from ancient 5 rank yes, I'm actually 1k mmr yes. My main account is in worst behavior score and no matter if I behave good or not in this bracket I end up in LP. So I decided to make a new account and to climb to have a fresh start with a new positive attitude. My behavior score on the new account is very good (I have green smiley face, but did tilt a game or two).

Is this illegal to do or ?

as far as i know they don't ban smurf accounts

How do I contact steam support? They only contact form regarding items.

as far as i know they don't ban smurf accounts
They do ban smurf accounts.

They do ban smurf accounts.
since when??? do you have a source that can back up that claim? keep in mind that getting boosted and smurfing are two seperate things.

Like, 2 years now or so. I read it all over the internet, on official sites tho. Gosu, DOta2comunity and so on.

I will look into net and try to find it and post here.

+ i forgot, when we got this new mmr system, they mentioned then that for boosting, ban will be 8 years if i can remember, or 6? So you might have been flaged as boosting account too.

I report all smurfs look at the senario you are a new player and you t4ry the game and you cannot win the game due to smurfs and you quit that is what you are doing to the game no new players will join because of this. 2 other reason to make another account either you was banned and you should have to wait out your 6 months before playing again or you are a cheater that boosts accounts for sale.
Im so happy they are actually doing something now.

What did you say? You ever heard of wow? Like, started 2004 and today still up and running.

Its not a joke. If people smurf and ruin other people games, they should get ban, and i would make it a permanent ban and all items locked. They have luck its just 5 years ban.

+ if they would go and inform them selfs and search internet a bit, they would know this same thing happened 2 years ago. A lot of people got banned then as well.

I hope that everyone who got banned, learned something out of it.

you guys forget that dota2 this days have 3 options when you first start to play:
1. i've never played dota before
2.i have an ideea how to play
3.i've played dota 2 before
now you need 100 normal matches to play ranked
so,if u select first option but you've played dota for lets say 5 years,that means you are boosting because you get in matches people who just started playing and they areunder your level.
but if ,lets say you are on main account on archon level and you are stacked and can't grow in mmr,you make a new account because you got tired of playing with bad team and you select option 3,you will get inmatch people appropiate to your level or even higher. And that is not a bad thing in my oppinion. For example your main account is archon 1 and on gosu.ai and dotabuff it says you play like legend and in some matches even like ancient,so you made new account just for you not for selling or anything else and you calibrated at 3k.
I don't thing you get banned for new accounts,you probably got banned for something else.Maybe boosting,scam reports etc...

In my oppinion you can not improve your gameplay if you are stacked with the same 2k or worse people.

Theres a Steam Subscriber Agreement. Nothing about a terms of service for the game that nobody has been able to provide.

Bottom line: it’s their game, their rules. You’re just along for the ride.

Players have always complained about smurfing and account buyers and today the banhammer took a swing and got a home run. Don’t be surprised.
