does it work in background?
if you try to play dota with the program running and get a VAC error, close everything immediately, and unistall it
if you don't get VAC error then it might be "safe" to use
anyways, its better to try it with a smurf account you don't mind losing (getting a VAC ban)

I have install reshade for months, didn't get a VAC, I think it is legal since not a cheat
