Confused on how to level up

Hi I'm new to Dota 2 and I'm very fuzzy and confused on how to level up on Dota 2? can someone explain to me?

That experience trophy?

if you keep playing dota you'll get xp to get you experience trophy, once your thropy's level goes to 5 your level profile will goes up too, IDK but i'm still confuse too XD

Before Dota 2 used to level up your Dota profile based on exp only. But in this new trophy system , as far as i can remember, it takes 100 exp ( which you get for just playing the game) to get 10 Trophy points. 100 trophy points = 1 lvl up on your Dota 2 profile. You can get trophy points faster by spending money though

So that means 1000 EXP for a level? Is this only on the Experience Trophy? How many EXP do we even get after a match? Does the Experience Trophy have a cap?

Yeah. No this isn't only on exp, as i told before if you want to skip the hard grinding and wish to have more dota profile level in a short time, then you need to spend. I'm sorry i forgot how much exp we can get get per match. Yes , the Experience trophy can be leveled up to 1000

No, the way it works is...complicated but I'll do my best to explain.

Your DotA profile levels up every time you get 100 TROPHY points. Different trophies (and different levels of the same trophy) award different amounts of trophy points. One of the trophies is the EXPERIENCE trophy. You level up your experience-trophy from playing matches. At different levels, the experience-trophy will award you some amount of TROPHY points which will in turn increase your profile level.

Other things what award trophy-points are mainly buying and participating in the compendiums that are released along with tournaments.


The short version is, if you keep playing DotA, you will level up. That's all you need to care about for now.

You can go to your Dota profile then click on the icon that shows your dota level. It'l show you every ways that you can increase your dota level by. Experience trophy level might have increased and gave you trophy points

Oh yeah last thing, about the Trophies. I also noticed that at different levels of trophies are different trophy points, (e.g Level 1 Experience Trophy has 110TP, while level 5 has 350.) So I'm asking if that's an additional TP we will get when we step onto that level, or it simply means that's our current TP for that Trophy once we reach that level?
