Dota 2 Hero Similar to this hero in Vainglory?

I tried to get into Dota 2 but I couldn't find a hero that was best suited for me. I used to play Vainglory alot until it died.

I do have a friend that plays this game and might ask him to coach me. But I need your feedback on a similar hero to try.

So here is the hero from Vainglory. Its basically a Melee tank that shoots a BFG like blast.

Not really a hero that can be found in Dota2. Maybe timber saw comes close.

You can't play only one hero in Dota 2. Like it or not, you must understand the mechanic and how each hero work, try studying them. Play bot matches if you are new to the game. I met people that came from the same genre but they can't just keep up in online matches.

the closest her i can think of is snapfire honestly
the ult is just a cone instead of a line.

Wow Joule is a cutie.

Feels like she matches more like League of Legend's Pantheon in terms of skill set. What is it about her that you liked and dedicated her as your go-to hero.

Is it the tankiness, there are plenty of heroes in dota that fit the tank role, mainly of the strength assortment.

Is it the mobility and stun, that narrows it down to a tank initiator.

A poking spell on top of being a tank initiator? You drive a hard bargain.

Lastly, a spell that does large aoe damage. Whew.

I would recommend the following heroes as a taste test to see if they fit the bill (as much as possible, you can read them up),
Brewmaster
Chaos knight
Tiny
Mars
Earthshaker
Slardar
Snapfire

Yes, I like Joule, but never turn back. She‘s only a tank when attacked from the front like Mars in Dota2 and kind of opposite to Bristleback.
