V-Sync adds input lag because it delays frames from being shown on screen, making the time between when you do something and when it appears on screen longer. The amount of input lag is highly dependant on the game engine and how it's rendering pipline works.

Don't use V-Sync

I don't use Vsync because it causes input lag and that's generally not good for competitive games like Dota 2 or CS:GO.

Vsync causes input lag. Instead of Vsync I'd recommend using fps_max command to limit your fps

vsync + nvidia inspector frame limiter to 58 actually reduces input lag a LOT I use it, my pc can run it way higher that 60 frames but the 58 limiter is very smooth

Vsync for shooters is when you will have input lag.

Vsync for RTS games is fine, you should have it on in RTS games, if you are running more frames than your monitor can show.

Edit -- I could get into it, but I will wait for someone to try and debate me.

/game
what is RTS

Kind of, it has the same style as RTS games. It has some RTS elements, I'd call Dota, a simplified RTS.

The main thing here, is vsync does not cause input lag in RTS games. Unless you are talking about panning the screen, but that would not matter as much because there are ways around that.

Before anyone jumps in here and runs their mouth, let me say this. I can notice 1 fps dips in my frames and I can notice 5ms spikes on my latency. RTS games dont have input lag, the way shooter games do. The argument for vsync and input lag has to do with shooters, not RTS games.
yah im on vsync right now and i can't feel a lag

I'm playing from a notebook with Ryzen 5 integrated graphics (Vega 8 I think).

It runs on avg 90 fps, well over the refresh rate, but when plugged it gets really hot and have heavy fps drops during teamfights.

Would limiting fps to 60 improve temperatures? Is that done from the graphic options in video or with a command?

I bought The Laptop Vacuum Cooler and it solves my problem, no more FPS drops,

Nice to know.

Meanwhile, will limiting fps reduce igpu heating?
