Difference between Major and Minor

Other than allowed points and prize pool is there any big difference between major and minor tournaments?

Prize is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and meaningless to me... Maybe not for the players, but for me it's in a little million dollars in total prize pool doesn't make it more thrilling to me.

I'm a casual fan, if tournaments don't get to me, I won't get to them. I was wondering if the major events would be considerably bigger.

the competitions get more funding from valve so they can do more exciting things with the money is the hopes

the doubts are that with so many minors and majors they wont stand out anymore and just all blur together

Majors must have qualifiers from CIS, CN, EU, NA, SA & SEA

Maybe tomorow there will be an update and we will see something in game about major tournaments.

That's the total prize pool. It's nothing surprising for a dota 2 tournament.
