As for the reason they're more expensive it comes down to prestige, having the opportunity to showcase a once in a lifetime item is worth the price for certain people, not to mention that if your goal is the Aegis figurine or the lvl 2000 Roshan you're getting arcanas as a side effect.
i don't want my exclusive arcanas to become some marketable 30 dollar trash.
I sincerely regret that the value of the Arcana depends on its market value.
but when its a level 500 item and only available for 3 months. it becomes priceless. literally.
as a collector i gotta say everything that is limited time or unobtainable is the most collectible thing to exist. high level battlepasses are basicly designed for collectors. anyone who wants them to be cheaper or tradable clearly aren't collectors. they're casuals. they'll use the skin for a week, get bored of it and sell it. then move to another arcana to try.
