This one time I calibrated to Herald 5 or something. I was really rusty from not playing for over half a year. I'm not a herald player. I easily climbed up to Archon, that's where the grind began for me. From that I knew I'm an archon player.
You need to realize what your skill is, accept it, and figure out how to improve if you want to get better.
-mute everyone
-focus on your performance
The idea when playing should be of thinking about your every next move judging the current situation (farm lvls, your teammates iq, the enemies iq, etc).
In some games that means never showing up in team fights, because no matter what you do, your team is so bad that they would manage to lose all the advantage that your presence might aid.
When you are paired with potatos don't stress pinging nor guiding them (assumed you've got the gamesense needed to do so), you won't be followed. Play the game as you were alone.

Especially now that US servers are under assault from non-US player bases. At this point just waiting for the next new whatever that can move me away from Dota, much like Dota took me away from WoW/Starcraft. All fairly boring now, but nothing else so far keeps me interested.
I'll be happy to have your thoughts and ideas as I am in the beginning. (feedbacks will be helpful)

I think ranking up in Herald works so much different than in higher mmrs. And needs different work around it.
Recalibration is also a good idea.
Smokes, pinging (*once*) your next objective, and short voice chat are messages that everyone understands.
GL HF! :)
Best one. Have you started playing Dota 2 a month ago? Or are you just trying to hide the blattant abusive system the majority of Dota 2 "players" are here for?
