- Copy current Dota 2 files to somewhere(NOT the new location, but somewhere else)
- Through Steam: Remove Dota 2
- Through Stream: Start installation of Dota 2 to a required folder
- Shut down Steam
- Copy the saved copy of Dota 2 to the new location
- Launch Steam
If it doesn't recognize the copied files, then:
- Stop update and press "Verify integrity of game files".
- Or, press "Clear download cache"(this might or might not remove files, so always keep a copy of your Dota files somewhere else)
I haven't tested this out myself, but I have a feeling this might work. Before trying that on your Dota 2, you might want to try that with any smaller game you have in your library(or just find some free one and test it out).
