30min ban
So today, I left my first match in over a year. I've had a 10k conduct score for as long as I can remember. What.....the...actual ♥♥♥♥.

don't leave

So you had things to do outside of the game, so you left? 30 mind should be enough for you to deal with your emergency
mimizukari Apr 23, 2020 @ 4:04pm
exactly, you ruined 9 other people's games by leaving, so you always get a ban as soon as u quit/abandon/etc.

Are you trolling? 30 minutes is nothing. The penalty fits the crime, man. It's not like you were banned for a week, or even put in lp.

Honestly I just don't understand this argument
The 30 minute ban is a mercy, not a punishment. If you were disrupted by something in real life, like a power outtage, 30 minutes is plenty of time to deal with it. If you ragequit, 30 minutes is perfect to cool off.

LOL let's back up a moment here. All of you are making assumptions, probably based on the toxicity of this game, so let me clarify. I was not mad, I left because there was a negative player on the enemy team and I did not feel the need to deal with them. I think I left within the first 5 mins or so, so I don't think I ruined the game for anyone, but actually saved everyone the misery of playing with this salty dog (me saving the game is obviously up for debate, but not the point of this post, so I digress).

ANYWAYS!!!
I was shocked to even get a ban guys/gal. Because I have been playing this game since 2012, on and off. And I have never gotten a ban quite like this, so quickly. Typically from experience, I was able to leave AT LEAST a couple games without penalty.

Summary:
Just found this 30 min ban shocking from my past experience from this game. Even my buddy of many years reacted with "Wait, you got banned? For leaving once?"
I did not believe this was fair or unfair of a penalty, just surprised. But, if you ask me, it sound like y'all have a lot more experience getting banned than I.:d2axe:

I didn't played dota since icefrog was a modder at w3. My team just wasted all the gold (stupid penalty) 'cause they didn't choose any hero and i ALT + F4'ed. 'cause i didn't entered the game, i've a 30 minutes ban.

NICE WAY OF WELCOMING A PLAYER! I just quitted LoL and HotS. I guess i've to quit Dota2 even before playing it.

If you leave before somebody else, you receive a matchmaking penalty. The amount of time increases for each game you leave within 15 matches. You can see the number of times you received an abandon when your conduct summary updates.

Nevermind, the Half-Life sounds and really bad models and other things like robotic feeling got me triggered enough to leave it mostly untouched for the third time.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say that nobody cares

30 min is a pause not a ban.

First let me congratulate you on maintaining a 10K Conduct score. Now concerning your decision to leave the game because of another player I sadly must disagree. Dota 2 is not a game for the thin skinned or easily offended. By leaving the game you did in fact ruin the experience for your teammates and everyone else. In the future you may simply want to just disable the text/voice of that specific player and continue playing. Additionally you have the option to report the player in question to have Admin look at his/her account. It's always helpful to detail in the comment section what happened with this player. Regrettably Dota 2 in recent times have become more plagued with toxic players however you should never let them ruin your game or result in you getting a ban.

Incredible how you completely missed the point and topic of the post! Instead you do what most people who respond to discussions on internet do, focus on a portion that you yourself can critique to make yourself feel better. Congrats!
