Low Priority Single Draft?!?!

What is this crap? My wife and I were playing a game Friday night and our son (18 months) wakes up maybe 5-10 minutes in from a nightmare, we both tried to calm him to no avail so we abandoned so the other players on our team weren't stuck down 3v5 and could play a good game.

Now we are stuck in low priority, no big deal, but single draft?!?! This is absolutely insane. We usually play a game a night before going to bed and now she is talking about quitting because we can't get out of SD.

We have to win a SD game but we keep facing off against groups of 3 or 4 that abandon games on purpose and are to put it lightly, griefers, We've sat in the fountain unable to do anything because of horrible hero match ups for ten minutes while they repeatedly ran into it and killed our team.

This is a horrible decision to force players in public matches to go to single draft.

You don't get low pri from one abandon. So that's malarkey.

And it's not supposed to be fun. If they let you play all pick you would have no reason to avoid getting thrown in.

You're lucky you never got low pri back when it was "all random" only.

We actually use to enjoy AR in WCIII DOTA. But single draft is killing us. And as for our abandon logs. It's the only one we have between the two of us. So call it malarkey but that's it. SD is pretty much going to be the reason why she quits playing, I can probably get out of this purgatory sooner or later, but I'd rather play Elite than this bull crap SD.

(I checked open dota for myself, I have a total of 5 playing DOTA 2, ever. Including 2 afk (son waking up) and 2 disconnects (power)).

Party with some friends and win them. It makes it more fun. I help people on my friends list win their lp all the time.

Am I the only person that enjoyed their low prio experience? It was more hilarious than frustrating. If you can keep yourself from getting tilted all the toxicity is funny AF.

If one person in a premade party abandons the entire party is giving an abandon and loss. This is to discourage parties from avoiding unfavourable matchups by having a single person abandon early and make the match not count for everyone else.

Mute teammates, farm the enemy noobs while they flame eachother and feed.

It is kinda hard to understand why would a parent even care about different game mode in a f2p video game in this situation. I mean, seriously? Is single draft really THAT big of a deal?

I don't get people's problem with low prio. I love how it gives you the opportunity to try new heroes. Hell, I'd never played Skywrath before I played him in low prio. Found him quite fun then so I tried him in normal quick play, this was the result: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2792014052

Your son is YOUR problem, you made it everyone else's problem too. If you can't get out of LP and your ♥♥♥♥ whines about quitting because of that then she should. Dota is a challenging competitive game, not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SIms Online time killer half of you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ treat it as ruining games left and right.

Play alone until you get out, and then play on your wife's account and get her out, too.

Well it's not malarkey then, is it? It's less about how many abandons you have and how close together they all are. I've got 11 abandons on my record but those are spread across most than 2,600 matches, so I have avoided the LPQ.

Next time something like this happens, have one person play both heroes while the other one takes care of your kid. You'll probably lose but at least you won't get an abandon.



P.S. LPQ isn't fun because of the people, but Single-Draft mode is fine. I play it some times just for fun.
