Beating Gabens 50% win/lose system

We all know that valve wants dota noobs to win games and the reason for this is to keep them interested in the game and spend money. The problem is, folks who could normally rank up are stuck in limbo having to be constantly teamed with such players = lost games.

Now... Lend me your ears a moment

I am currently in early stages of testing a theory of trying to rank in dota using my own secret formula and the results are music to my ears, please continue and i'll explain

Here is my guide to winning and avoiding dota's cesspit of forced losses in ranked..

1. First you must identify when you are starting your 50% Win climb, this is fairly easy as you will notice you don't have to do anything to win the game, you can pretty much afk in jungle and the allies will just mop up the game with little assistance. My advice is always assist in the win as you never know when someone will lose connection which could throw the game to the crows.

2. Be aware of how many games you have won. Usually there is a climb of 8-10 games before Gabens lose algorithm kicks in and you can avoid the decline if you pay attention. The sooner you identify your own personal lose decline the better, escpecially if you want to rank up, lose you say? well here is the secret.

3. When your lose decline begins make sure you play turbo and single draft. Believe it or not this counts toward your win/lose score. The algorithm is not limited to Ranked matchmaking per se but to all games you play. So Basically start to lose after a successful bout of wins and you will eventually be quietly switched over to the win teams. This is the key to raising rank, the other is to party with good players which will avoid the Nublings but bare in mind you will always play good teams with this.

I really hope this guide helps guys at their wits end. I am currently 20 wins to 2 losses using this system and can spare my log to prove this . I have just risen from guardian 2 to guardian 5.

My lost games were all in turbo and i have many of them which seems to trick gabens algorithm.

Well I think this is actually en effective strategy in Guardian ranks, because people in there don't know how to farm. They basically just run around the map doing nothing, fighting non-stop and without any reasons or thoughts behind it. Farming lanes, split pushing and farming jungle in the meantime is actually even better because people in the lower brackets (Herald, Guardian, Crusader) have no idea how to deal with split push. That's why split pushers are so good in these brackets. If a low rank player is really good at last hitting and farming he could raise ranks playing heroes like Anti-Mage or Nature's Prophet for sure. Unfortunately most players in there don't have the skillset to play these heroes so that's why fighting heroes and late game heroes shine the most.

it is 50/50 system even on higher brackets. You can simply watch this after 3-5 win streak you will be matched with players who have lose streak. In 3k mmr it mean those players will not even know what to pick, how items work and how to cast spells or what to buy vs current enemys... This is calling similar skills bracket :) fk joke

For every game you lose to terrible teammates, you win due to terrible enemies. Unless of course, you're so determined to hate your teammates that you throw in the towel while the game is still wide open.

In true competitive gaming you would not be teamed with losers if you won. If winners were teamed with winners and losers were teamed with losers you would eventually have a fair system and you would settle in your relative rank.

The current system is awful for pug players

I lost games after a 10 win streak many times with players who fed 0-15 0-16 0-17 in the first 30 minutes and some of these were mid players. im not talking 1 game im talking 8 + games in a row

So? I've lost games due to terrible teammates. I've also curbstomped enemies just as hard. Take your tinfoil hat off, Gaben does not have a personal grudge against you. He doesn't get a smartphone notification every time you queue up and pair you up with Herald 1 players. You're just a player like any other, and you will only climb when you accept that you suck (we ALL suck at Dota), analyze your builds, analyze your play, and stop pretending you only lose because of some grand conspiracy. In other words, GIT GUD.
