What do you think is it? Of course it auto renews itself
It’s not robbery if you didn’t read what you were buying.
If you want to cancel, click on your Steam wallet then click on Manage subscriptions. You are not going to get a refund though.
next time buy 1 month if you want it, not subscription.
Hope they check for Steam later because Valve is scamming so many users with this trick.
That’s a goofy investigation and a waste of time. I have or had all of those services and not once had I not understood the terms of what a subscription is or what is included in it. And when things get changed, I have been notified well in advance (for example, XBOX Rewards).
So nice try Space, but that’s not going to even get off the ground...
If he failed to read the words recurring charge before he hit the buy button, that’s not Valve’s problem. They made it quite clear that non-recurring purchases were available.
if you chose ONE-MONTH option then it wont happened
SO ,
the conclusion is
1. Go check yourself about the step that you've taken before do blame
2. Admit that it was your fault instead of blamming valve about your own fault/stupidness
3. Move-on, don't do it again
4. Learn from fault
It is the best to not feed these money hungry dictators like Valve, don't let them steal your single penny.
Chargebacks will only get your account locked, so that’s also not a good idea.
Space, why are you trying to get OP in trouble?
in the game, click on your dota plus points. in the top right you can click "manage subscription"
if you only wanted 1 month then buy the month and then cancel the subscription just to have it for 1 month.
though there are perks to having this feature - it shows the meta builds for the hero that you picked (the stuff the pro's are getting on that hero), in stat tracking - i've noticed when they added this feature to dota plus, my inscribed gems no longer work that are imbued into my gear, i'm assuming they moved the stat tracking to dota plus only. there's nifty gear from the store, plus you can use the mobile app to bet points on pro teams (who will win/lose battles), plus the app keeps you up to date on who joins/leaves your favorite teams (i didn't even know fear was on j-storm with moo until i got this app)
i could go on and on why it's a good feature to have but ultimately, it's upto you if you think it's worth the measly 4$ a month, which is equal to a gallon of milk.
edit: about my comment on stat tracking, on sniper i have a cosmetic that has inscribed gems embedded into it: 30k wards purchased another one that has 30k wards placed, and 33.8 million gold spent. when i got dota plus, these stats no longer move.
You bought the subscription, which is on an auto-renewal basis. (This is EXPLICITLY stated when purchasing the subscription.)
You didn't even know what you bought. Stop trying to claim theft.
Robbery? No. Stupidity? Yes.
but naaah, we wrote everything there so if you are not that carefull we have rights to f you in the bottom.
So it’s their fault that you didn’t read exactly what you were buying?
So in that sense, I can buy a ticket to a game or an event for one day, show up at the stadium on the wrong day and then demand that I still be seated, even though I didn’t read what I bought. Do you realize how silly that argument is?
You could’ve reviewed everything even after you bought it, cancelled it, request a refund stating that you made this in error, then you couldve bought the non-recurring one. You had an opportunity to correct your error and you didn’t.
As a consumer, you have the duty to read what you are buying. No lawyer is going to take up your case. Especially over $3.00, since their fees are normally 10000* that 3 bucks
