Cannot find a game.
Hi there,

So I played Dota 2 a bit a few years ago. Towards the end of when I played, I ended up in low priority due to leaving games (I was salty). I recently re-downloaded it again.

It doesn't say that I'm in low priority but I can't seem to find a game either? I search everything ticked in non-ranked but still nothing after even an hour of searching.

I am able to find games on my other account which I never used for Dota 2 before.

Please assist.

Regards,

Please consider broadening your search parameters. The goal of Dota's matchmaker is to find players of similar skill who are queuing for the same parameters in your selected region(s). By expanding the parameters as wide as possible, you have a larger pool of players to potentially match with.

These options are found in the lower right corner of the client above the Find Match button:
* Language, Secondary Language > No selection
* Region > Automatically pick the best region based on my location or select multiple regions to queue on

Other things to consider to improve your search time:
* Queue for multiple game modes and include All Pick
* Make sure that 'Strict Solo Ranked Matchmaking' is disabled - Settings > Options > Advanced Options.
* Match maker will try to match you with players with similar conduct. A positive conduct summary will result in a faster queue times, as you can be matched with a broader group of players.

Finally, the availability of players in the region you are queuing on is a factor that will increase wait times. If you are queuing for a less popular game mode, during off-peak times for your region, you will experience longer wait times.

Thank you, I think it's my conduct summary combined with the location (being South Africa).

It's going to be difficult to bring it back up, guess I'll have to pay for my previous mistakes!

I have 10k conduct but for some reason i can't find a game less than 30 minutes, don't know why but might be because of me living in South Africa.

this makes me think you'll never find a game then--hypothetically if your BX score went extremely low, and valve is only matching you w/ players w/ similar scores, then you have a VERY small pool of people who are probably experiencing the same issues, and therefore aren't going to be searching.

does valve "ban" people, perhaps not, but this is pretty much close enough XD--and as i write this, im pretty sure this is happening to me (altho my bx/comm score are 8k each--i can't find any match, any time, even after 20 mins of searching)

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
