I think it's a bit unfair that you will lose a game just because one of your teammates got disconnected for some reason and never come back. I suggest that instead of making the game invalid for both teams, why not just let the other team gain mmr and no mmr deduction for the team that has a disconnected player (they still need to play until the end of the game). I know it can be somehow abused. I want to get your opinions/thoughts about this.

PS: This is after the 3 minute mark of the game where the game is not "safe to leave" anymore.

when someone leaves, game should be not counted. if mmr, only the leaver should lose. simple af fix

But it would be pretty unfair for the team that has so much advantage (late game already) to make the game invalid for both teams just because one of their opponents got disconnected.

ez then, make it countable if the rest 4 voted to agree to continue playing. so maybe after 25 mins (typically heroes are quite farm to remake game) should count. Or 4 players who stayed can get a chance to be rewarded with cosmetics. so many ways to counter fix the problem of abandon

As unfair as it seems it's still possible to win a 4v5 game. Anyway IMO, the penalty for the leaver should be heavier. For instance, when you lost a 4v5 game with a leaver on your team, the leaver lose more MMR compared to the rest of the team. Also, making your team not losing MMR is totally abuse-able.

its possible to play 4on5 but nobody wants to play unfair game. leaver gold dont really mean the same.

so it should be marked as different. why would i wanna lose mmr because some nub picks sf mid and feed and leaves. What do you mean abusable? how to abuse?

Thats why the one that DC got abandoned (costing this mmr) + LP + (-behaviour score). for the other 4 if they lose they only lose mmr and have chance to report the dc player (more - behaviour score deduction). So its fair.

i think u dont even understand the concept of fair. A complete stranger ruins your mmr and you think punishment for him = fair.

You should punish him + give compensation to the people affected, in this case (dont give the 4 mmr loss), unless Valve give an option in game when someone dc, Pause, then select.

1. Dont lose mmr or
2. Lose or Gain mmr
