Dota 2
the meta needs to encourage diverse playstyles-not only deathball
the meta is beyond broken and boring...and every match plays out in the same way

Yeah I'm not too fond of the deathball metas either.
There are extremely hard and punishing counters to deathball.
What meta heroes are "deathball"?
Is this another one of those "any combination of AoE spells is a deathball strategy and I don't wanna learn how to counter it" threads?

That's not helpful. What are these miracle strategies?

Nope, the OP just says this about every patch despite bragging about how he doesn't play Dota for half of them. Go figure.

Splitpush or teamfight or de-push heroes/items are good.

are you kidding. split push doesn't work at all...especially in 7.20.
I think op‘s statement has some truth in it because tryhards in usual public solo matches will play strictly according to the meta. They are used to it and don‘t want to provoke any reporting due to „silly builds“. However this is true for every meta which may change with every patch and favor different play styles with every gameplay update.

But there is also the experimentation side of Dota2 where for example players try different non-usual heroes at mid and see how dazzle or ogre can carry matches for your team. I love this versatility of Dota2 but the player base in solo public matchmaking doesn‘t support this aspect of Dota2.

that's not really the point though.

the point is that the meta itself has become way too rigid due to valve's insistence on constantly making certain heroes and playstyles way too op as a way of enforcing "change" in the meta

A team picks teamfight heros farm till they have thier good teamfight abilities then push midlane, the enemy team must deffend but offten lose becose they have to little team fight abilities.

You need an escape mechanism, or else you may never even attempt to split phish a dota map.

that's not the point though.

the point is that the only way to push in this game is 5 man death ball...every other strategy is totally irrelevanta not viable at all

nope nope nope, if they are 5 man's only - like the previous posts say, you need to split them apart, if they all keep coming to defend their tower against one person, viciously attacking, you need to play a gank to take their highest ranged attackers, or spell casters first, Use reverse psychology to bait them. Don't leave mister solo as a scapegoat to your failure. You had the choice to do something about it, and reverse the game's odds, but you chose not to help, and then act as if they were a death ball. ANY Team that starts killing first, can become a death ball, with any meta. Try new things. that's the point of dota, beta. Changes per patch. EZ>
usually what follows all attempts at solo pushing, is the next 3-4 people going in one by one to lead the GG on;

that's not the point at all dude...

the point is that the only way to actually push and win the game is with deathball.

nothing else is viable, split push isn't viable at all.

i am not blaming that person, i am blaming the poor meta and balancing
