How does Tournaments hold LAN matches?
i know since dueling fates update dota can no longer play LAN offline, but these official tournaments like DAC or captains draft 4.0 hold LAN matches online, can anyone tell me what does the LAN means? is it different from the offline LAN match before 7.02? and does it help the connection to be more stable?

Custom lobby-local host. As far as stability/connection, it depends on the host of course. Presumably, tournament organizers aren't using Tandy's with dial-up modems to host.

I play with some friends lan once every month, last sunday we were 14 (14 people, not age) so we did turns while others ate, went to the pool and stuff like that (summer here).
Our ping was always smaller than 40 ms and i was secretly downloading mortal kombat X since in my house my internet is slower huashashu. But im not sure if we used lan or an online server, i just know it always works fine
