And then to show how they were totally against racism, Chinese fans responded by harassing a girl with racial slurs. I mean, if you're going to rehash this tired ole' story, at least rehash all of it.

Well, a totalitarian dictatorship famously known for human rights abuses and crushing any freedom of expression isn't a great venue for the TI. It's right there in the name, International. And China is not a place that is kind to their own people, much less foreigners. Speaking of which, you know who treats Chinese Dota players the worst? Chinese Dota fans. If you follow the Chinese discussions, when a Chinese team loses they're talking about how they bring shame upon their family and country. They get like seriously personal.
Still is.

Also this entire fiasco is so stupid and should never have escalated like it has.
This really isnt the same as Galaxy Battles since the PH government made a move that would affect all players' right to privacy especially since a lot of the players that were participating were from countries who has legalized recreational drugs.
Oh please, the action of a few idiots now become the basis for their entire nation? This is the same argument people use when calling every Filipino player peenoise. Only one seems to be a real account while the rest seem to be just troll accounts.
This entire debacle should have ended with Skem. I dont understand how it managed to get this far.
Then why don't you direct your comments at all of the Chinese players who were flooding the forums and firebombing the Dota 2 reviews, claiming that Valve was racist because of "the action of a few idiots?" Kinda selective there, aren't ya?
Do you think these players should be banned from the Chongqing major? Speaking of the actions of a few vs. the whole, If you support that then why not support a standard of conduct for all players in Dota 2? Why not ban any player who uses a racial slur? People want Dota 2 to be less toxic, right? When people complain about toxic players on the forums and ask everyone to report them, often they mean, everyone else who is toxic should be banned but they should be able to get away with it. Not much different here.
And again, youre conflating 2 different things. Pro players are viewed in a different regards from pub players. They are always in the spotlight and are more representative of the playerbase to other (gaming) communities than some random pub troll. They are profesionals, they should act profesionally. Or do you disagree?
So you want standards of conduct but only for pro players. That's my point, all of the people pointing fingers at these two guys while claiming their own racism, toxicity doesn't count. Classic double standard. Why would it be bad to hold all players to the same standard?
