So in other words MK is viable as pos 1 if you're Topson. OP recently had a 1/14/14 match as Monkey King. I think "I saw a pro do it" might not be a realistic strategy.
OP was the worst player on his team.[www.dotabuff.com] He got outplayed by his own support. You're telling him well uh Topson can do it. That's not advice that realistically helps people. If OP *could* pos 1 as MK then he wouldn't have to ask. There's always a meta shakeup after every TI and it's usually full of people trying to do stuff they saw pros do because surely if a pro player, part of a pool of elite Dota players who make up less than 1% of the Dota 2 community can do something then surely everyone else can. In reality, it doesn't work like that.
In my recent CM game the carry in my team is MK, and he didn't doing very well. He just can't catch up against any other carry in late game. In my opinion his overrall kit is made for early to mid game, he deals tons of damage but kinda useless in late game. He needs to get close to the enemy and hit them 4 times to get his Jingu Mastery, but you'll get punished by the enemy before you get the bonus damage on Boundless Strike. To be honest i'm not a good carry player myself, well since most of my recent ranked games I played as a support player.
MK is fine as an initiator or ganker but generally speaking if you want to mop up in teamfights you're gonna need some additional carry muscle.
So and so pro did this, isn't realistic advice for most players.
