Dota 2
Dota 2 stats no longer make sense.
Match ID: 3997924495

I was the FV.

The reason I say this is I've been working hard to try and get my fighting, farming and pushing stats up. But I can't do that because the system is absolutely on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

How does the troll get a higher pushing score than me when I did more building damage?
How does troll get higher fighting score when he did less hero damage?
How does he have a higher farming score when I'm a whole 10k networth ahead of him?

CAN ANYONE TELL ME? PLS KTHX.

I have 354 last hits and he has 195. Yeah he definitely deserved a better farming score than me. Jesus christ. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO IMPROVE IF I DONT KNOW HOW IM SUPPOSED TO IMPROVE?

Bumping because I NEED TO KNOW.

Hahah I expected something like this. Looks cool on the outside but garbage on the inside.

No longer? Those post game stats never made much sense, you could get 10 in supporting for having a vlads on a core.

Exactly @Woody. So how am I supposed to know what I need to improve?

It took me 6 years to learn all the mechanics that I know now, and it's been taking months as of recent to implement and master some recent ones that I learned.
However, even tho I continue to introduce more mechanics and better time management, etc into my games, I'm still seeing the same trash Dota players. My skill bracket isn't budging at all.

People in my bracket don't even understand power treads. Some people literally keep strength treads the whole game, never switch to mana boots to cast a skill. Some agi boot players never switch to strength for more hp while escaping, or when regen in fountain they never switch to agi boots to regen faster. They also don't understand creep aggro mechanics or tower aggro.

Seriously guys what can I do to improve. I could literally list off every mechanic that I know about, including for every hero individually.

I feel like there's almost nothing left to learn.

You need to learn how to win games. Getting out of the trench demands that you do this. Its not your skills or knowledge of mechanics that get you higher level games, its winning regardless of whether you used them or not. Dota is a team game, you need to learn to lead your team to victory.

Watch pro games, watch high tier pubs from player perspective of heroes you want to improve with, watch streamers who focus on teaching, watch your own replays with a very self critical mindset of ''what could I have done better in this time, should I have pulled/ganked/counter-ganked, farmed/pushed etc. in that moment'' and of course practice.

That's what I've done for literally 40% of my entire time on dota.

naa... Dota 2 stats has big flaws. if you want max supporting, but sentries and sell it again. guarantee you will have 10/10 supporting. you want to max fighting? TP every gank, or teamfight, you don't have to die, just be around there, it is consider fighting participation, throw your skills and back.... doesn't have have to be on hero damage.

I remember i wrote this to Valve a year ago, and yet no improvement. obviously they need to work on this, probably not now.

So like I said, how am I supposed to determine where I'm lacking and where I'm not?

Everything you guys suggested already, I started doing years back before I ever asked for help.

I always watch my replays when I lose or feel I could have done better and I've always been super critical of myself.
I always watch a pro playing a hero that I plan on practicing or playing before starting a match.

I wont do RMM because I'm waiting to see more ancient players in my pubs. Right now my pubs are roughly 30~60% ancient players. I might even wait till I see divines.

What also makes it harder to improve is you guys say "Learn to win"
Over 6 years I've learned how to win. My problem is I need tougher opponents.
How am I supposed to learn if unfair bots are worse than my pubs, and my pubs suck 30% of the time?

In chess if you want to get better, you play against someone better.

In Dota, system keeps giving you people of same skill or lower = cannot improve.

If the system would give you better players every 10 games or so, I'd have a way to benchmark my performance.

Also if stat bars weren't screwed up I'd be able to determine if I could do better.

Like I said on my original post. How can I have 3.8 farming stat, if I had 650 GPM and 350+ LH @40 mins. Makes absolutely no sense. I can never get >5+ farming stat because system is broken!

How am I supposed to actually know that in one game I could have farmed better if every game is same farming stat, even if I actually do farm better?!?!?
Fistraiser Jul 10, 2018 @ 2:50am
For just buying wards you will get 10/10 supporting.
Best way to get better is to learn by mistakes or read or watch hero guides(and see which ones actually work XD )

Patience is all there is to it really. i was 4.8k when people were 4k flat, then they ended up 6k before i ended up 5k.

i won many Battle Cup tournaments, i played seriously every game, i do not know myself how it was so hard to get the last remaining MMR, but after 3 years it finally happened!

... Then i quit the game because of Valve.

With a certain skill level you can‘t improve anymore against standard bots or in public matchmaking. But you can organize yourself in making friends in higher levels. They can take you into higher ranked matches. You also can organize lobby matches for high ranks, best with an entire team and look for other teams who like to get challenged by adequate opponents. I‘ve seen streamers doing that quite often.
