Can a support player calibrate higher than Archon?
I havent calibrated yet but im guessing i can win atleast 7/10 of the calibrating matches with a position5/support role. Can i get pass Archon5 with a KDA of like 1/5/20+ on most of my calibration games?

youll have your first 100+ games before calibration. Valve will base your hidden mmr on your stats and and most of all win/loss. so lets just say u have 60/100 wins. so you end up in 2700 which is archon 2. You will play with archons in your 10 caibrating games. then lets just say youve won 7/10 in your calibration. so youll end up in archon 3 which is 2900. Ive calibrated 5 accounts already XD

position is not important. win/loss is everything

No, you won't get past Archon5 even if you play perfectly for the next 7 games. Looks like you'll end up at Archon 1 or 2 even if you win all your remaining games. Worst would be ending at Crusader 5 if you happen to lose all the remaining calibration matches.

Does gpm affect anything? The runtime too?

Yes it will (and many other stats), but it will only matter before you start your ranked match calibration. Your first 35 or so normal matches matters so much more than your 10 ranked calibration matches. You have to make sure you get high skill matches on dotabuff before you play your ranked calibration matches. I played this new account and was matched against Ancient ranks on normal games (I've had 15 straight matches on VHS), I started my calibration and was matched against players with Legend and Ancient medals. As per max calibration mmr, 3.5k, eventually I've been matched with Legend 1 & 2 for my final 3 calibration matches. Ended up getting Legend 1 with 5 solo and 5 party matches.

for me no. for example if you play alchemist in your entire career and has 600 average gpm. Valve will base on your performance like damage output. pushing. etc not on your gpm. and if u play support like omni and has 300 average gpm. valve will base on your supporting items bought. camp stack and hp healed.
I got divine 0 playing purely support. I lost 8 of my calibration games as well. In my opinion, don't worry about KDA and try your best to have an impact in the game. Try to participate in all the ganks and etc.

Don't give false hopes to others, you've had over 5k party mmr before the ranked match update. People who are asking here definitely had recent matches against Crusader5 up to Archon5.

Also, even if you gain 800 more for your solo mmr, your medal won't improve until you get to 5180 solo.
