The ranking system has been rescaled and a new medal was added. There are also topics about this already.
That is exactly what people are on the forum complaining about. People dont read dota2 news or any of the patch notes to see changes, they just expect to start a new season at the same rank because they expect nothing to change. Their expectations are all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. If they calibrated alot higher than last season, nobody would come here to complain. They would all think they are just awesome and improving and there is no problem at all. It's completely hypociritcal and stupid.
Not saying this particular op is, he seems to be trying to understand which is quite refreshing.
My mmr was 2400 aprox few monts ago and I played until my mmr was 3400+ and now restart mmr i palyed calibrate games with team mates first game dota !!!!in calibartion !!!!! to gain after all 2600 mmr wtf boys? are you joking with us ?

Thank you for being mature and understanding. Feel free to post in other threads with this. I feel like I am the only person doing it, and everyone just wants to ignore it. If you kept your medal from last season, or even scored higher, then you are a great player that is still improving. Great work man. The MMR this season is not equal to the the MMR or medals last season.
Even though you are typing at a very low educational level, I think I inderstand what you are mumbling about. If you fail to understand how player population and math works, then we cannot help you.
What does it matter? If everyone is getting "lower" like you, then isnt the playing field still the same or even? Nothing would really change with the quality of your matches. You are just quitting because you think "Ancient" makes you look cool, and Archon is soooooo beneath you. Seriously, get over yourself.
I agree, you can suffer with crappy players. In general, you slowly climb out over long periods of time. Like you said, "grinding". You have to be consistent.
My agreeing with you ends there though. Valve doesnt let you keep your current rank just because you worked hard and feel you deserve it. Thats rediculous. The MMR scaling and medal system has been changed, and this means everyone has to be rescaled to fit it. Honestly nobody seems to understand how this works. Valve would be better off just doing away with divine rank and not even bringing in the imortal rank. That way, everyone can be legend so nobody feelings get hurt. You didnt get "1k removed" or "lose 1k". This is your negativity because of your expectations and not understanding how it was changed or why it was changed. If you played all 10 matches the same way you played your last 10 matches last season with the same people, you will still score this new MMR because that is where you fit based on the new scale. Get over it. If you are really so much more awesome, then go get it.
You didnt even understand what I was telling you. You are still stuck on this "i deserve it" thing. Whatever man. Uninstall and play something else.
If everyone is having your problem, then your match quality remains the same. Nothing will change. You are just acting butthurt because you want a prettier medal. Im sorry, but this is what I see in your posts.
Why do I have a feeling you got at least +500 MMR from the new cali based on how you are defending this. How much did it help you?
I started from Legend 1 about some 8 months ago. Climbed steadily to Ancient 1. Boom down to Legend 1 because I had 2 DC(!). One troll and that was what was needed. Couldn't get carry roles either. Went 4-6. Uninstalled.
