Don’t mind him. He’s just cranky.
When you go to bind your keys, does it register? If it doesn’t, then programming a macro to that key and just binding a different key may be the answer.
I have an Ouroboros. I use the left side keys to open the shop menu. If I remember correctly I just bound it to F4, then in the management software, I bound the keys / macro that way.
I dont have a numpad on my keyboard so i have to use onscreen keyboard to bind the keys on both dota and the mouse ... but after i bind it to my mouse first , i cant use my mouse to bind it to dota
No I understand that portion of it. I’m just trying to understand how you’re doing your binding.
So if you test your mouse binding, say in Notepad, it spits out the correct key, correct? It SHOULD spit out the correct key you have it bound to in the Alienware software. I’m not certain but last I checked it should do that.
OK, so the binding is working, but it's just not getting picked up by Steam. So that's a good start.
I didn't have to jump through that many hoops to get my Razer gear working and, to my knowledge, they operate on the same functionality, so I'm not sure why it's not registering. Are you trying to bind the key through the settings of the game? Maybe try the key binding in a chat window on DOTA to see if it registers?
No, but this is a good resource you can use. Honestly, the console is kinda smart, so if you get in the ball park, it'll give you the start of the command.

Looks like it's just bind, but it doesnt mention any parameters. So I guess just use with caution because I have no idea what it will want to do.
(using the 1 on my mouse which is bound to keypad 1 )
just makes my regular 1 key use first item
** unbind "1" "dota_item_execute 0"
gets rid of it
bind "kp_1" "dota_item_execute 0"
does nothing :(
and kp_end gives me an invalid message
Logitech is the best. At the right price.
My macro buttons on a logitech used to work in Battlefield 1 - then after a patch they stopped working... So it's the game's software that is usually the problem.
Although as all above recommended- Map that key on the mouse to a keyboard key, and then bind the setting to the keyboard key - which is now also on your mouse.
Himm. Well, I'm not quite sure what else to do. It sounds like something is just not clicking between Steam and Alienware.

And it looks like this could be the source of your problem. I'm not entirely sure, but it's sounding oddly suspicious.
