True i try not to cry over spilled milk. Like if i want to have fun i dont deny others of their fun but in return they should also not deny me of my fun. If i play unranked i never report any1 cuz i just have fun with the weirdest strats i can think of.
There is no common sense in the community when or who to play what. The game play is just the same. The difference of the game modes is only of psychological order and everyone interprets it differently.
Normal all pick is not a casual mode and in particular not a practice mode for ranked players. There are bot matches for practicing and turbo and other fun modes for casual play.
On the other hand, ranked is not really competitive. Why play normal if only in ranked there is a kind of reward given, although it is only a shiny medal? 2k in normal is the same than 2k in ranked. Then you can go for ranked anyway.
So, my opinion, recombine normal and ranked to one game mode again to avoid the unnecessary split of the player base.
While what u said is true on a whole other level. It still doesnt change the fact i get reported for being a goofball in my games.
Cuz we are mostly the peolle who truly understand the word "fun" we are the people who cares not about winning or losing which will lead to a less toxic atmosphere because we dont aim to win but enjoy the game. Of course too much goofballs will lead to lack of seriousness but if there were no goofballs i think dota would be alot more toxic than it is atm.
When im goofing off i dont flame like when i play ranked instead i just do my own things i mainly argue about being reported for having fun. Which kinda makes goofing off not fun and more like ranked
Exactly the problem im trying raise awareness of. If every1 gets easy access to a nontoxic nontryhard mode it would definitely be better for the game
What if i want to play dagon od ill need to use my ulti early on multiple times to get ahead otherwise i will fall behind and never get to execute my strat
Well thats what u do but for me i love to screw around in unranked games but getting reported by tryhards ruins the fun. If u wanted a serious game go play ranked just in case u meet people like me who dont take unranked seriously
All custom games are too different from regular dota (the meta of each custom game is far too different than regular dota). I want to experience the dota we all played against real people (bots playstyle are too standard, none of the bots are farming or creating space for their carry and their only strat is to 5 man push all the time at the end of the game all bots have roughly the same amount of farm) i played enuff bot matches to know their playstyle.
So i have no choice but to go unranked to mess around with dumb hero builds
But if I interpret the signs right (introduction of turbo and ranks/medals instead of mmr for ranked) Valve‘s strategy is to recombine the two modes again, as it was before 2013.
If you don‘t like bots to mess around, you can open up a private lobby entitled, „funny build lobby“ or play with friends with the same attitude. Dota2 has it all, but don‘t expect solo public matchmaking to consider all the crazy things people like to do.
