Dota 2
Is there a way to reset / downgrade your mmr ?
Hi.

I haven't played Dota in two years and haven't been up to date with all the patches. Since my mmr felt "right" for me when I left, I obviously expect a serious downgrade in my current mmr.

I also know that I will probably be going through a batch of 10 calibrating games, but I also know that unless I lose all of them, my mmr is unlikely to tank much. And anyway, I would prefer not to alienate other players by playing over my bracket.

Also I am mainly a support player, so keep in mind that gaining and losing mmr for support players is slower than for carry // hardlaner (though I can hardlane decently).

I think I was around 3K8 before.

Any advice for getting fun & balanced games as fast as possible ?

Maybe play Turbo for a bit to get back into the swing of things? Or do unranked.

The best advice, just play and do your best.
Your skill rising and mmr falling will soon balance itself. Also mmr is not the self purpose.

There's a pretty simple solution to this. Just don't jump straight back into ranked games. Practice, play normal non-ranked games, turbo or hell even some co-op/solo bot matches.

Just be aware that Turbo will give you a false sense of game progression, such as supports 6-slotting and carrying. You should mix in some normal allpick before jumping back into ranked games otherwise you can easily fall into that turbo mentality trap.

Turbo is the worst idea.Laning is very important these days and in turbo laning doesnt really exist.I suggest getting used to the important things because if your early game sucks you will most likely lose in ranked.

Well, I have always been way better at reading games than actual execution. So in my particular case, I am not worried too much about losing track of game progression.
I mean, I certainly will to some extent. But I am pretty sure that not knowing how to react to new abilities / heroes will impact me much more in the short term.

If you want to get into ranked again, the order would be Solo bots, bots coop, normal all pick and then ranked. Turbo is a Dota2 fun map for itself. A good amendment to Dota2 but not a good way to practice for ranked because it has a different game play and is potentially misleading if you are aiming for ranked mode.
